I Recommend Princess Cut Diamond Rings Part 2

In part 1, I mentioned that princess cut diamond rings have my highest recommendations because of two reasons: the "shock" factor and the price tag. If you haven't read princess cut diamond engagement ring part 1, it would be a good idea to read that first before continuing here.

Princess Cut Diamond Engagement Rings: The Price Tag

If you are looking for a less expensive stone, the best value on a per-carat basis, and an elegant sparkle all-round, the princess cut diamond rings are the way to go. Here is why:

Since the cut is square rather than round, princess cut diamond rings make use of the diamond more efficiently than the more common round brilliant. In order words, this is the most cost-effective way to cut a diamond because there is less wastage. What this means for you is, better bang for your buck! Princess cut diamonds with the same width and diameter as round brilliant diamonds can weigh more because they retain the corners. Not to mention this creates a more spectacular look when they two are put side by side. In fact, if we compare princess cut diamonds to most other cuts, they often cost less per carat for this very reason.

When you examine these rings in detail, you might find that some ladies princess cut diamond rings have prongs. If they do, this is simply a precautionary measure emphasized by the designers to protect the corners of the square shaped diamonds. Whether the ring of your choice has these prongs or not, the jewelry designer would have considered the durability of the ring, and so I wouldn't sweat over it. Plus, these prongs shouldn't make that much of a price difference.

Like mentioned in part 1, many princess cut diamond engagement rings are set with additional side stones, and the final price of the ring is therefore the total carat weight of all those gems plus the center stone itself. If we do some simple math here and take a look at the difference between a round brilliant and a princess diamond ring with the same set of side stones, we can see that the princess will end up to be more economical because of the better cost/carat rate.

The Choice is Easy Now...

While the brilliant round diamond solitaires may dominant the market (for now), for a ring that offers an equal amount of sparkle but with a striking and contemporary feel, princess cut diamond rings are unbeatable. This is the reason why the princess cut diamond rings triumph over the more time-honored round cut diamond ring in my books. In fact, since they are among the most sought-after in terms of engagement rings, lots of jewelry experts share this same opinion.

Yes, there are a lot of options, but you will not regret going after a princess cut diamond engagement ring when you see the look on her face! Don't wait, go for it!

I have included a video above from diamonds-usa because they offer some of the best deals there are world-wide.

I Recommend Princess Cut Engagement Rings Part 1

So, the time has come? If you are like me, then you probably have walked by countless jewelry stores, maybe glanced at the rings or earrings from time to time, but never stepped foot inside to take a real look. And now, you must face this daunting task to choose the perfect ring, and ask her the life-changing question. First off, before I say anymore, I want to congratulate you for coming to this milestone of your life! Hehe, a friend of mine said once, "a happy wife equals a happy life", I have got to say I agree with every word. Now, back to the topic of discussion. When choosing engagement rings, I highly recommend going with the princess cut engagement rings. Why? Because they have the best of both worlds on my "shock" factor and price tag continuum. Even though there are so many variations of engagement rings to choose from, I will explain to you why you are already half way to finding her perfect ring by opting for the princess cut engagement rings.

Princess Cut Engagement Rings: The "Shock" factor

Remember the meaning of an engagement ring - it is a symbol of your love and commitment to her and your future together, and hence is an extremely important piece of jewelry. But what makes the princess cut engagement rings so great? I would like to say that the princess cut diamond engagement rings are simply timeless, due to their design and distinctive shape. Since the cut itself was only invented in the 1970s, it is still relatively new, and therefore will stay in "style" for a real long time. This might be thinking a little ahead but I am sure you don't want this ring to look like an antique when she shows it to the grandchildren about 40 years later. Princess cut engagement rings have such dazzling and sparkle that it has attracted its way to the second most requested diamond cut on the market today. Many women seek engagement rings that are more unique than the classic round diamond solitaire because they want something extra special - of course to make their girlfriends a little jealous. Yes, they compare with each other... what do you they chit-chat and laugh about when they do their little social gatherings?

Okay, I apologize in advance if the next part sounds abstract to you, but I promise when you show her a princess diamond ring on your wonderfully planned proposal night, she will be in awe. Back to more shock factor...

The princess cut engagement rings have stones cut more like the modern brilliant cut, which is traditionally only used for round stones. This allows for many facets on the diamond to catch more light, creating that extra sparkle. Therefore, the shininess of the princess cut diamond engagement rings tend to be more than with traditional square-cut stones. Remember, a diamond's sparkle and fire is inevitably what will shock her when you first give it to her! Lastly, the princess cut engagement rings regularly lend themselves rather fine to designs focusing on the four corners. They are frequently set with additional stones for added brilliance, with a total of three stones being the most popular variation. Another common setting for princess cut diamond engagement rings is to use channels, where the stones are set into the band itself rather than held above it with prongs (for protecting the diamond's corners).

In simple words... Distinct elegance. Brilliant appearance. She is guaranteed to love it! (Remember to check out the video above)
